Fitness Plan Basics

I will make this very quick. If your plan does not include weight training, you might as well call it Cardio training!

Overall fitness has to include lean muscle growth, or it simply isn’t effective and will not stand the test of time. In addition, for most people, it does not provide the look you are trying to obtain. Classes like HIIT, Orange Theory, etc. are great for cardio but they should be considered a supplement to weight training and not the other way around. For years I have observed people attending this type of class and although I am certain they have outstanding cardiovascular health, they have gained zero lean muscle and, in many cases, have actually lost it. This is not a good long-term solution. Get into the weight room, lift heavy (relative to your ability), and watch your body change.
